Grandmother Clocks
The standard grandmother clocks tend to have been made in the 1920’s and 30’s and vary between 5’4” and 5’9” in height. There seems to be no hard and fast rule about how tall it has to be. Some grandfather clocks may fall into this height category, but they are some distinguished characteristics: if the clock is weight driven, has a dome top or swan necks, is more substantial in stature and defined grandfather shape, and has a 10” dial (even if it is less than 6’3” tall).
